Purpose and scope
Responsibilities
- Develop new product designs, processes, scale-up new products, optimize designs/products, transfer technology, verify and validate processes/products, and establish production procedures and specifications.
- Independently design, execute, and analyze moderate experimental work, and present conclusions.
- Collaborate with a team on IVD assay development projects, working alongside other associate-level scientists.
- Maintain well-organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with regulatory guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate within project schedules to ensure timely data transmission to project teams.
- Design and execute experiments with precision, ensuring the accurate collection, organization, and analysis of data to support product quality.
- Efficiently manage inventory and laboratory resources to ensure seamless research operations.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory documentation, ensuring all data and processes are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment, strictly adhering to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive laboratory space.
Essential Requirements
- A Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, immunochemistry, immunology, or cell biology with 3+ years of relevant assay development experience, or a Ph.D. in the same fields with 1+ years of relevant assay development experience.
- Considerable knowledge of good laboratory practices, scientific methods, and working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments.
- Ability to document work per ISO 13485/FDA/IVDR regulations, including materials, methods, and conclusions.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, analyze, and draw conclusions from scientific experiments.
- Ability to work well in a team setting and interact effectively at all levels and across different cultures.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, including pipettes, glassware, balances, pH meters, centrifuges, and other general laboratory apparatus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present data and findings to diverse audiences. Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Physical capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Independent and proactive, capable of executing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with an emphasis on effective communication and data explanation.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments.

It would also be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Previous experience working with magnetic bead-based immunoassay systems and related bead coating conjugation chemistries.
- 3-5 years of experience in an IVD diagnostic business, with either ELISA or bead-based immunoassay experience.
- Hands-on experience in any of the following fields: immunoassay or biochemical assay development, antibody/antigen interaction, immunoreagent development, protein chemistry, with meaningful experience in clinical, research, or diagnostic settings.
- Advanced statistical and data analysis tools and proven data proficiency.
